As the foremost pioneer of urban Western cuisine, Love wears a cowboy hat in place of a toque, appoints nachos with kangaroo carpaccio and marries foie gras with chiles. In May 2007, Love appeared on the Food Network's "Iron Chef America" in a victorious "Chilie" battle against Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. Love was also featured on the Food Network's "Challenge: Hawaiian Luau Beach BBQ." Love has appeared as a guest chef on Paula Deen's, "Paula's Party" and, Love has been a guest chef at "Rachael Ray's Burger Bash" which took place at the 2008 Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival.
Love's flagship restaurant in Fort Worth, Texas -- The Lonesome Dove Western Bistro-- has earned critical acclaim since it opened in 2000. In April 2007, Tim opened a classic burger joint called The Love Shack. The Love Shack is a casual outdoor spot serving fresh burgers, sausages, hand-cut fries and onion rings, root beer on tap, and a selection of beer and wine. The Love Shack is adjacent to The White Elephant Saloon, another Love property, in the hostoric Stockyards district.
In addition to Love's recent television appearances, he has been featured extensively in national publications such as Bon Appetit, Food & Wine, and The Wall Street Journal and regularly appears in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, The Dallas Morning News, and D magazine. Love recently released his second line of cookware, The Tim Love Collection, which debuted on the Home Shopping Network in September 2007.
