A wonderful and holiday inspired show has chosen Lakeland as its next stop. Classic Albums Live presents: A Very Lennon Christmas: Imagine There's No Hunger is a special concert in the Classic Albums Live series that has touched the hearts, souls and imaginations of all who have heard and experienced this performance. This show varies from the other Classic Albums Live shows in the sense that it has a strong purpose: to help fight world hunger and poverty.Joining the fight against hunger and poverty is Volunteers in Service to the Elderly (VISTE), a local non-profit organization that provides hot meals and groceries to more than 1,000 senior citizens in the greater Lakeland community, which enables them to continue living independently. "With the current economy situation, more and more people are donating less and less," said Alice Riley, Executive Director for VISTE. "To see there are people still willing to help is just beautiful. We are so thrilled to be a part of this." "This is a wonderful show and a great way to give back to the community," said Mike LaPan, Executive Director of The Lakeland Center. "The tickets are affordable and donations, even on the smallest scale, can make a huge difference in someone else's life."
Food donation boxes will be placed throughout The Lakeland Center and the community before and during the show. Everyone has a family member who is elderly and needs our love and support. Don't let them down. Give them a fighting chance and together we can help fight hunger and poverty.
